Self-Acceptance with your Guardian Angel
Self-Acceptance with your Guardian Angel: Our guardian angel helps us to reach our highest potential and can guide us with anything we need guidance for. There are parts of us that we can find hard to accept. They could be thoughts, behaviours, patterns, physical attributes or our heritage even.
Often people postpone accepting themselves fully until this thing is changed (if it can be changed). They punish themselves; feel bad about themselves, sometimes feeling ashamed and fearful. But this reaction is not conducive to positive change, and how we see ourselves when we are like this is a long way from how the angels see us.
Our guardian angel has been with us since before birth and always loves us no matter what. We can work with our guardian angel in offering ourselves this kind of unconditional love and acceptance, which helps us to move forward and thrive.
It can be hard to accept ourselves as we are. We are bombarded by messages in the media of how we should look and how we should be. But who is really like this? We are being fed an unrealistic picture of how we as humans should be. In comparing ourselves end up feeling unsatisfied with ourselves. But who we are, as a Divine spiritual being on this earth is seen every day by our angels.
Our guardian angel constantly whispers to us our full potential and divine blueprint. When we work with our angels we come to receive these encouraging messages and have more faith about who we are and why we are here.
There has been a move towards accepting also the shadow side of our personalities. Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung spoke about the shadow self and the importance of meeting it in ourselves;
“To confront a person with his shadow is to show him his own light. Once one has experienced a few times what it is like to stand judgingly between the opposites, one begins to understand what is meant by the self. Anyone who perceives his shadow and his light simultaneously sees himself from two sides and thus gets in the middle” (Jung, 1959).
Being open to our limiting beliefs and behaviours, and like in mindfulness, noticing this without judgement, is a way of meeting our shadow self and embracing it. Asking your guardian angel to assist you in this will support you and make it easier. Our shadow has information for us that we would never know if we avoid, deny, run away or reject it. Self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviours are often borne of insecurity, fear of the unknown. If we listen we can work with the shadow self in order to heal and progress.
You can visualise yourself bringing light into your shadow self with the loving assistance of your guardian angel, just allowing you to gain insights at a pace that is helpful and ideal for you. See your whole self being bathed in light, even the parts of you you’d rather change or get rid of. They need light too!
